How to use the Cobavital
The mode of use of Cobavital in tablet can be:
- Children 2 to 6 years: 1/2 to 1 tablet, twice a day, before meals.
- Children over 6 years: 1 tablet, twice a day, before meals. The daily dosage should not exceed 8 mg ciproeptadine.
- Adults: 1 tablet three times daily before meals. The tablets are easily dispersed in water, juice, milk or in the mouth.
The Cobavital in syrup should be taken:
- Children 2 to 6 years: ¼ cup measure (2.5 ml) to ½ cup measure (5.0 ml), twice a day, before meals.
- Children over 6 years: ½ cup measure (5 ml) twice daily before meals.
- Adults: ½ cup-measure (5 mL) three times daily before meals. The daily dose of 12 mg ciproeptadine is generally satisfactory. Larger doses are not required or recommended for appetite stimulation.
The dosage and dosage of the medicinal product may be altered at the discretion of the physician.
Side effects of Cobavital
The side effects of Cobavital can be sedation, drowsiness, dryness of the mucosa, headache, nausea or rash.
Contraindication of Cobavital
Cobavital is contraindicated in patients with closed-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, stenosing peptic ulcer or pyloro-duodenal obstruction. It is also contraindicated to patients sensitive to any composition of the formula.
