The Ministry of Health recommends that the baby be tested on all newborn babies when they are more than 2 days old. The examination is not compulsory throughout the country and, therefore, many hospitals do not perform it, and parents are responsible for this task.

The eye test is the test that detects early childhood cataracts and other serious diseases, such as retinoblastoma and glaucoma. The examination is simple, it is enough for the doctor to observe the fundus of the child's eye with a flashlight-like device and observe if the fundus of the eye turns red.
