To treat a burn scar, various techniques, including corticoid ointments, pulsed light or plastic surgery, for example, depending on the degree of burn, may be used.

Main treatments
The most commonly used treatments to treat the scar of each degree of burn include:

As soon as the burn is healed, it is important to start some daily care that helps the skin to heal properly, avoiding the formation of a keloid scar, and avoiding the appearance of dark marks on the skin, such as:
- Put moisturizing cream 2 times a day on the scar;
- Massage the scar site at least once a day to activate local circulation, helping to properly distribute collagen to the skin;
- Avoid exposing the scar from the sunburn and spend sunscreen every 2 hours on the scar site;
- Drink 2 liters of water a day, to moisturize the skin, facilitating healing.
