Fumaria is a medicinal plant that grows in small shrubs, and has white or pink flowers with a red tip and leaves are greyish-green.
Smoking is also known as weevil, pigeon mackerel and smoke-of-the-earth. Its scientific name is Fumaria officinalis.
It can be purchased at natural products stores and at some drugstores.
What is Fumaria used for?
Smoking is used to help treat gallstones, constipation, intestinal cramps, urticaria, scabies, and psoriasis.
Properties of Fumaria
Fumaria has depurative, diuretic, laxative, anti-inflammatory and regulating properties of bile and regenerative secretions of the skin.
Mode of use of the smoking
The parts used for smoking are: Stem, leaves and flowers.
- Smoking tea: Add a teaspoon of dry, chopped smoke to 1 cup boiling water. Leave to stand for 10 minutes. Then strain, sweeten with honey and drink 1 to 3 cups a day.
Due to the bitter taste of smoking tea, mixing with fruit juice can be an alternative by mixing a cup of cold tea from smoking to apple juice for example.
Side Effects of Fumaria
The maximum daily smoking intake should be 3 cups of tea, as overuse can lead to vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain.
Contraindications of Fumaria
Smoking is contraindicated for pregnant women, breast-feeding women, and individuals with stomach problems.
