Who can take Victoza are individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Although this medicine has been designed as an antidiabetic, some endocrinologists have prescribed Victoza for obese and non-diabetic patients, but Anvisa recommends caution in this attitude because there are not enough studies yet to prove that the medicine does not harm the health of non-diabetic individuals, who use it to lose weight.
Individuals who are slightly overweight, obese, in case of abdominal fat, localized fat or patients of any other disease in which it is recommended to lose weight can also take the medicine, as long as it is prescribed by your doctor.
The Victoza has like any other contraindication measures that must be respected and therefore should not be taken by pregnant women, breastfeeding women, patients undergoing cancer treatment, in case of renal impairment, compromised digestive system in case of allergy to some of the components of the formula and to type 1 diabetic patients who are taking another medicine to regulate blood glucose.
