Netitigason is an anti-psoriasis medicine and antidiceratosis, which uses as active principle acitretin. It is an oral medication presented in capsules that should not be chewed but always ingested with food.
Indications
Severe psoriasis; severe keratinization disorders.
Side effects
Atherosclerosis; dry mouth; conjunctivitis; peeling of the skin; decreased night vision; joint pain; Headache; muscle pain; bone pain; reversible elevations in serum triglyceride and cholesterol levels; transient and reversible elevations of transaminases and alkaline phosphatases; nose bleed; inflammation of the tissues around the nails; worsening of the symptoms of the disease; bone problems; pronounced hair loss; crack of the lips; brittle nails.
Contraindications
Pregnancy risk X; breast-feeding; hypersensitivity to acitretin or retinoids; severe hepatic impairment; severe renal insufficiency; woman with the potential to become pregnant; patient with abnormally high blood lipid values.
How to use
Adults:
Severe psoriasis 25 to 50 mg in a single daily dose, after 4 weeks can reach up to 75 mg / day. Maintenance: 25 to 50 mg in a single daily dose, and can reach up to 75 mg / day.
Severe keratinization disorders: 25 mg once daily, after 4 weeks can reach up to 75 mg / day. Maintenance: 1st to 50 mg in a single dose.
Elderly: may be more sensitive to usual doses.
Children: Serious keratinization disorders: start at 0.5 mg / kg / day in a single daily dose, and may not exceed 35 mg / day, up to 1 mg. Maintenance: 20 mg or less once daily.
